The original text dates back to the VII Dynasty of ancient Egypt. The song was used during night ritual dances by the light of fires for 7 days in a row, bringing prosperity to the families of the dancers for a year ahead. After a year, the ritual with the song was repeated.

During the Hellenistic period in Egypt, under the influence of Greek culture, it became popular to apply ritual texts to clay jugs. The lyrics of the song are also applied to the jugs, but they lose their ritual meaning and power of influence. For this reason, the song is eventually forgotten.

• for a peaceful sky above (to avoid disasters)
• to regain honor and respect in society
• so that “insatiable heads” would not notice in the “night fear” (to be unnoticed in a secret matter or at night)
• so that the child gets well soon
• to soothe a mother's tears
• to bring back abundance to the “table” (read during times of famine or when there is a problem with food up to 3 times a day)
• to gain clarity during complex mental activities (reports, exams)
• so that something stolen or lost is found (read at night before going to bed, holding your hand palms up over your pillow)
• to clear the mind of a mentally ill person (placed under the patient's pillow for 3 nights, except for the full moon)
