The Prayer of the Steps of Destiny is a sacred text attributed to the Pharaoh of the 17th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt Suajenru Nebiriru I, who reigned around 1601-1582 BC. The prayer was intended to be read in a special ritual before visiting dangerous places or crowded gatherings. A truncated text of the prayer was engraved on one of the interior walls of the Karnak Temple for almost two centuries, until it was destroyed by one of the subsequent rulers.
