For millennia, prayer was a sacred possession of a select few, a powerful tool in the hands of those who believed in their ability to influence the spirit world. As early as the VIII Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, a special caste of priests dedicated to the resurrection of people and animals made prayer the cornerstone of their rituals. Their faith in spirits and their ability to channel their power through numerous invocations, including the powerful "Promise to God," allowed them to alter the course of future events and ward off misfortune from those cursed. This was not simply an appeal to higher powers, but a whole complex of knowledge and practices, passed down from generation to generation.

However, like any great power, prayer required deep understanding and wise application. History provides a cautionary tale. Once, a prayer inscribed on a tablet fell into the hands of the son of a Babylonian ruler. Driven by a thirst for revenge, he misused it. The result was disastrous: instead of relieving misfortune, he drew it upon himself with even greater force. This incident clearly demonstrates that sacred knowledge does not tolerate frivolity or careless handling. The power of prayer is a double-edged sword, capable of both healing and causing irreparable harm if used with malicious intent.
