The amulet prayer “Invisible Powers” is an ancient Egyptian protective text that appeared during the Third Dynasty. Originally popular among the nobility in Nubia, the prayer spread throughout Egypt and nearby territories over the centuries, including Babylon, where it acquired new features. Round clay tablets with the amulet text were placed next to the bed of a child (aged 11-12) to protect him from demons, which were considered a danger to those crossing this age limit.
