According to historical data, Princess Olga accepted Christianity in Constantinople (Tsargrad) in the St. Sophia Cathedral. This event was of great importance for Rus', as she became the first Christian ruler. The text of the conspiracy, along with other manuscripts, was given to the “empress” during the Great (Easter) fast by the patriarch of the St. Sophia Cathedral.

The princess recited the conspiracy before asking for gifts, so that people would not refuse her request.
