THE HISTORY OF THE DUM CONSPIRACY
A conspiracy used by clergy to protect state property during its transportation from one church to another. Dated 1786.
Stolen by Ottoman traders during a robbery en route of the property of the chairman of the zemstvo council. The chairman's chest of belongings, which contained the paper with the plot, was sold to the Janissaries for a handful of gold coins. Translated by palace scribes in the Ottoman Empire into Ottoman (70% of the words in the plot are written in Arabic). For a long time, it was used by wet nurses at the Sultan's palace over small children to prevent them from stealing.
