HISTORY OF THE WIND PRIEST RITUAL
An Islamic conspiracy, framed in a ritual by Muslims of the African Yoruba ethnic group, living in what is now Togo. The conspiracy dates back to the 16th century.
It was used by local chieftains and priests to summon spirits in rituals aimed at abundance and the preservation of property.
In the 17th century, the spell spread to the territory of the modern state of Louisiana in local communities among Voodoo priests and is used to this day in rituals to expel the spirit of death from the bodies of sick people. Part of the ritual has been transformed into a Christian version.
