THE STORY OF THE SONG IS SUCCESSFUL
The song was one of the main prayers of the Temple of Hathor in Dendera. Having been brought by people from Nubia to Ancient Egypt, the text underwent minor changes, turning from a ritual into a song.
In many homes, three lamps were lit just at sunset to call upon the spirits to protect the home from misfortune. If children were sick in the home, the remains of the sticks burned by the fire were saved and soaked in the water for bathing the children to heal them from illness.
Initially, the Nubian ritual with the lyrics of the song eventually made its way to the territory of Babylon, where it became little known, but effective in protecting children from evil spirits.
