HISTORY OF PRAYER HEART OF DARKNESS
The text of the prayer dates back to 2730 BC, during the Second Dynasty of Ancient Egypt.
The prayer was read very rarely, on “noble days” when it was necessary to calm down a raging fate.
During the Eighteenth Dynasty, called the Thutmosid Dynasty, the prayer was recited at the bedside of patients who required a speedy recovery or were in a serious condition when they were struggling for life.
Part of the text, depicted on a fragment of a clay vessel, was kept for many years in a repository of antiquities in the possession of Gaius Julius Caesar, an ancient Roman statesman, politician and military leader.
