THE STORY OF THEDAWN PRAYER
The original text dates from the Early Dynastic Period, during the reign of the Third Dynasty of Egypt (c. 2720 BC).
The text was the queen's favorite prayer, handed down to her with honor by the king's mother. At the queen's request, the prayer was recited before the ablutions of all the serving women of the kingdom.
There is a story connected with the text: a prayer inscribed on a clay shard was placed under the left corner of the house (hut) of a person who owed something, so that he would repay the debt within seven days.
The writing of the prayer on the shard took place on a strictly defined day, based on the position of the moon and stars in the sky, so that the prayer would work properly.
