THE STORY OF THE PRAYER OF THE BIRD OF HAPPINESS
The oldest text, dating back to the pre-dynastic period of Egypt (c. 3400 BC). The prayer was used during the celebration of the arrival of autumn to protect the family from harm. For about two centuries it was used during weekly services as part of the ritual of ablution.
